After finding out that the little key on the corned beef tin didn't open the tin, I rummaged through the bits n bobs drawer to find an antique can opener but despite having 4 different types, none of them worked, so I desperately needed a tin opener that would cater to my needs. It arrived quickly, and works a treat. I can go back to having my corned beef, tomato sauce and coleslaw sandwiches. Although I have good taste in my purchases, I have weird taste in food!I hate this little tin opener. It looks great and seems pretty good quality, but user friendly it is NOT..This is a frustrating tin opener. It is not the easiest to use and more of a hit and miss with getting it to work. It is difficult to catch it right and frequently fails to cut and slip. Both myself and my partner have had problems using it and often one or the other end up frustrated in doing so... I am in the process of purchasing another. Would not recommend, a horrible item to use.The main reason I chose this model is because the description includes:'SHARPENS KNIVES – effortlessly draw your knives through the integrated electric knife sharpener to restore the blades to peak performance'......this is a lie.The instructions actually state to turn the can opener off at the mains, then to sharpen your knife you have to pull it through the sharpening tool manually!What can't sellers just be honest?!We have owned and used electric can openers successfully for a number of years. We bought this as a replacement and were influenced by the number of positive remarks made by existing purchasers. All I can say is they must have purchased a radically different item. I can't get this device to work. My wife can't get it to work and none of the rest of my family have managed to get it to open a single tin. If I could have given it zero stars I would have done. If I had known that the fault rested with the device I would have returned it immediately but foolishly I left it in the kitchen and have encouraged lots of people to try it with a one hundred percent failure but now it's too late to get a refund.Personally I am really disappointed with this product. It’s not easy to latch tin on, keeps slipping off when it does catch.Not a good product in my opinion, others may love it bbt not me
