Lights up perfectly to make a colorful track. This is a great add on for my winter-wonderland train set.Ordered this track set to be able to run my grandfather's vintage (40yrs+) O-gauge Lionel on around the base of our Christmas tree. The track goes together easily and is very pretty when it lights up, but as other have mentioned, it doesn't come with a power cable - you'll need to provide one of your own. Additionally, not knowing much about trains, I didn't realize that this isn't out-of-the-box compatible with older trains that you can't control with an app; it doesn't include a transformer of any kind, so the first time we tried to run our train on it, it shot around the track at top speed. Luckily it was a relatively easy fix. We opened up the bottom of the terminal station and replaced the connector to the power source with a simple FasTrack Power Wire, which we then connected with an old-school transformer we picked up at a local hobby store. Track still lights up even with the change in power source and now we have control over how rapidly the train runs. Looks great around our Christmas tree!The grandkids just loved it under the tree. It’s very pricey, and I hope it holds up for many more Christmas holidays.I added this to my existing track, you just remove 4 pieces of normal track or can make it larger by adding them. Makes for a more festive train especially if you don’t have Christmas accessories.This looked so nice under the Christmas tree. Worked great. Just a FYI the track is only lit up where the train is and not completely lit up all away around.Works right out of the box with the Lionel O Gauge Polar Express with Bluetooth and the plug in power supply, for other Lionel O Gauge Polar Express you with need and adapter on the connection to the trackThe set is made of the quality you would expect. But the tracks only light on the section of track that the train is currently passing over. The unoccupied track stays unlit until the train is on that piece of track. Another thing to note is that this is not made for use with the transformer style controller. It works only with the remote control style Lionel trains.
