These are obviously a discontinued style (from looking around the web), but they're so nice I can actually see them being $199 originally. I've had 2 pairs of them (blue and red) for almost 2 years now, and they're the best sunglasses I've ever owned... now granted I would never actually pay designer prices for sunglasses.I think there really is something to the "melanin infused" lenses, as I have fairly sensitive eyes and these seem to just work a bit better for me in bright sun than normal sunglasses. And they don't have the usual trade-offs of being too dark for semi-cloudy days or polarized to make LCD screens hard to use.If I had one gripe it would be that the style is somewhat small on my face, but I'm 6'2" and wear XL hats, so that isn't really a valid criticism of the glasses necessarily.UPDATE at about 3 years of owning them: still wear them constantly and they're still doing great. Just beware of buying other *newer* styles from Electric: they're lower quality now and I believe owned by a different parent company. I tried to get a larger style (the Bengal) and those glasses are crap all around, cheap frames, lenses just like any other $20 sunglasses even though they claim to be melanin-infused. But as far as I know, any of these old-stock "40five" pairs are great, don't think the new version of the company made any of them.
